What does the departmental disciplinary action mean?

Departmental disciplinary action is  a series of procedure in which a departmental inquiry is conducted, in which sufficient opportunity is given to the suspected public servant to present his point of view, the inquiry report is submitted by the Inquiry Officer to the department concerned, which forms the basis for award of punishment to the guilty.

Can GVC take action against a false complaint?

Yes, as per the provision of GR GAD No. GVC-1064-G Dt. 17/4/64 GVC may take appropriate legal action against a false complaint.

Does GVC inquire into the complaints lodged to GVC?

GVC can inquire in to the complaints lodged. But generally the GVC gets the complaints inquired through the departments / Corporations / Boards / ACB / CID etc.

How should the applicant check further progress pertaining to his complaints?

After the complaint is received, the Gujarat Vigilance Commission acknowledges the receipt of the complaint and starts further action on it. After receiving the factual report/preliminary inquiry report, the Commission makes recommendations, which have to be implemented by the concerned Departments / Boards / Corporations / Panchayats / District Offices. Therefore, the applicant should find out further progress in the matter from the concerned authorities.
